About Press Association Training

The Press Association is an innovative, digital, news and information provider. Since 1868, organisations across the world have relied on its unrivalled reputation for providing fast, fair and accurate information.

We are the national news agency of the UK and Ireland, covering all the news that matters 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Our training division was formed in 2006 from the merger of the former Trinity Mirror Editorial Training centre in Newcastle with The Editorial Centre, a training company part-owned by PA.

On acquiring the business, Press Association Training set about developing the Newcastle centre into a fully-integrated, multi media, journalism training programme.

The centre continues to provide a training service to Trinity Mirror, its former owners, and several of the delegates on each of the courses come from that group.

The foundation course is just one part though of a much bigger training business.

It provides journalism and media training courses to clients throughout the world from editor level downwards through its training centres in London, Newcastle upon Tyne and Howden, East Yorkshire.

We work with many of the UK’s national newspaper groups, including the Daily Mail, Telegraph group and The Sun.

In all, we have three, fully-equipped training centres, including the one in Newcastle. The others are in London and Howden, East Yorkshire, next to The Press Associaiton’s operations centre.
