Chris Havergal of the Cambridge Evening News had a great week to finish off his Press Association editorial training course.
Chris has spent 17 weeks on the Newcastle course and scored a great double by bringing in a splash for the Journal and achieving the highest mark in the PA Government Exam.
This also meant he received the Newcastle City Council PA Government award. This is worth £100 and is awarded twice a year to the trainee who performs the best in the exam.
Editorial Foundation Course leader, Paul Jones said: ``Chris did really well. Not only did he achieve the highest mark for this course it was the highest mark awarded in this examination for more than 10 years.
``To do this and bring in he front-page lead for the Journal was something he should be really proud of.
``Fortunately, he only got the second highest score in the Law exam otherwise the other trainees may well have lynched him.’’
